Stainless-Steel Wire Rope Collars
IDE Toys' Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collars come in a variety of diameters, styles, number of strands. We use brass and copper fittings to connect the ends of our Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collars together. Because none of these materials will rust or corrode under normal use, you don't have to remove your Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar to take a shower, hop in a hot tub, or even go swimming.
Our smaller diameter stainless steel wire rope strands, from 1/32", our thinnest, up to 3/32", are available only in 3, 4 and/or 5 strand braided Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collars. Our larger diameter stainless steel wire rope strands, from 3/16" up to 1/4", our largest, are available only as single strand Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collars. Our middle diameter stainless steel wire rope strands, 1/8" and 5/32", are available either as 3-strand braided or as single-strand Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collars.
More/Less.
All of our Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collars, regardless of the diameter of the stainless steel wire rope and the number of strands, are available in lengths up to ~23", which should be sufficient for all but the largest necks. As part of your purchase price, we will gladly cut down your Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar to your desired length. So you can wear your Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar as loosely or snuggly as you want. You can even have it cut down to anklet length!
The brass and copper fittings add to the industrial look, should you want to show them off. We try to use the smallest size fittings we can for any given collar; if you would like something larger, just let us know. Similar to common hex nuts, each end of our Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar ends in a tapered brass hex nut or a squared-off brass hex nut. The style of brass hex nut is up to you, and you can even have them modified to smooth off the hex corners/edges.
To take off and to securely put on your Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar, a free end of the collar can be screwed on to and off of a central union, with the other end permanently attached to the central union. If you are to be "locked" into your Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar, the hex nut portions of the free end and the central union can be tightened down using common hex wrenches. Once tightened, it is very difficult for the wearer to loosen the free end from the central union.
To even more securely lock you into your Stainless Steel Wire Rope Collar, an optional security set screw and corresponding driver bit can be added. This security set screw, when tightened down, prevents the free end from being unscrewed. The driver bit has a set of relatively unique protrusions, while the top of the security set screw has corresponding depressions; this means that only that driver bit can be used to tighten and loosen the security set screw.
Additional options include a ring through the central union, a ring attached to the Stainless Steel Wire Rope, and decorative conchos that can be threaded onto the Stainless Steel Wire Rope.
